BUILDING WELLNESS FOR MOTHERS AND NEWBORNS
New DAWN Africa , Inc.
was created in response to the dire need for maternal healthcare in Dandora,
a community on the Eastern edge of Nairobi, Kenya.
We are a network of partners committed to the delivery of
quality, dignity-based maternity services. We facilitated the construction of
Visitation at Brother Andre Medical Center, a state of the art Maternal Child Health Center,
on the grounds of Holy Cross Parish, Dandora.
Visitation staff deliver healthy babies daily!
Dandora Africa Wellness Network, Inc.
To PROMOTE health and wellness in the underserved populations in East Africa; to deliver exceptional dignity based maternal-child medical facilities and health care
To EMPOWER marginalized people by creating strategic partnerships; a platform where need and resources intersect
To BUILD HOPE and solidarity by informing the global community about unnecessary maternal-child mortality and by offering hope for a new dawn through health and wellness opportunities
"One thing we know for sure is that interventions for maternal care saves lives.
Specifically, the recommended four prenatal visits, having an assisted delivery, and access to a clean, safe facility for giving birth all contribute to reducing mortality risk for mothers and babies. Giving families a chance to start out healthy means that children aren’t born orphans, mothers aren’t terrified of the very real possibility of losing their babies, and mothers can experience the joy of sparing their children from becoming HIV + or from contracting preventable diseases. Healthy mothers and babies translate into WELLNESS for an entire community.”
