Staff Enrichment

Delivering Empowerment

One of the reasons Brother Andre Hospital is an exceptional place for quality care is the staff that works there. We know that investing in our people empowers them to stay engaged in their work, take pride in how they interface with patients and the community, and allow for them to continue to thrive.

To that end, New DAWN Africa has developed a scholarship initiative aimed at investing in the staff at Brother Andre.  All employees are encouraged to apply, and indeed, recipients have been everything from Janitorial staff to Laboratory staff, Pharmacy Technicians, and Counselors.

Staff who receive scholarships cost-share in their education and commit to a minimum of two years to the hospital upon the completion of their studies.

“New Dawn Africa are great benefactors of BAH and have continuously supported education, training and development of staff at BAH In 2019 three staff benefited from their sponsorship; In 2021 five staff will benefit from this scholarship programme.”

“A masters in this field will put BAH Lab on the map in terms of diagnosis and treatment in the community. I have a chance to pioneer this thanks to New Dawn Africa.”

- Harrison Nyakeya, Masters In Clinical Cytology.

New DAWN Africa also supports staff team-building and retreats for the staff to relax, bond, interact, and learn, giving the staff an opportunity to refresh their minds and re-energize.

We believe that investing in our people pays endless dividends in the long run.  Studies show that providing opportunities for educational advancement and training in specific skills set can nurture a more fulfilled, productive, and healthy work culture.

Indeed, staff at Brother Andre looking to advance their careers are able to with the support of New DAWN Africa, and their further knowledge and skillsets attained, in turn, improve the quality of care at Brother Andre.  We have seen how it improves employee morale by empowering staff to bring new ideas and programs to the hospital.
